Who Am I?
My identity is rooted in God and who He has created me to
be. The labels and stereotypes that society places on me do not define me.
Other people do not choose my identity. God chooses my identity. He tells me
who I am.
I was made in the image of God. This is who I am to my very core. No matter what I do like about myself or what I don’t like, my identity is in God. He says that I am His creation; He made me how and who I am for a reason. No matter what others say, I matter to God. He created me to have a relationship with Him.
It may be tempting to let what others say about me define who I believe I am, but that’s not where my identity comes from. I am not what others say or think I am; I am what God says and thinks I am.
I am not on my own; I belong to God. I am His, and always will be. People will always look at me on the outside. They will think who I am depends on how I look. God looks at my heart, and I will only have peace when I believe who God says I am: His precious creation that He loves.
